With a nickname that is the same name as the language that is spoken here in the state of Tamil Nadu, it is a good thing Tamilelakiya (or Tamil for short) loves speaking Tamil. Whether she is jabbering in typical teenage fashion to her group of friends or tenderly speaking to the younger children, she rattles off in her beautiful native language. You would expect that this tendency would affect her proficiency in English, but it is just the opposite. She is able to eloquently answer questions in the English language that she has learned at the Peery School for Rising Stars without much of the Indian accent that is so prevalent. She has two younger sisters, one of which is also studying at Rising Star. Her father has to be the most enthusiastic man in all of India. A trait that has undoubtedly rubbed off on Tamilelakiya. She is excited about everything! Whether it is skipping rope, dancing, or just running in a race, she does it with joy and energy. Her compassion and poised nature make Tamilelakiya one of the most respected girls on campus.
