Deena may very well be the wolds best seven year old cricket player.  He is always the first chosen for teams, and he never lets them down.  He is also an all star when it comes to school work.  His favorite subject is Tamil.  Deena is very creative, and enjoys drawing and painting.  Deena wants to be a police officer when he grows up.  We are sure that he will continue to be successful in all the he does.  Deena is loved by all, and we are happy to call him a Rising Star.

Devakumar has the biggest personality ever found in such a small boy!
He is a born leader and star.  He loves to act silly, and he thrives on attention.  He loves to look at pictures of Bollywood stars.  Devakumar wants to be a film director, and make 'super movies' when he grows up.  He is a hard worker, and gets high marks in all his subjects.  Math is his favorite, and likes to help teach the class.  Everyone agrees that Devakumar can melt your heart with his smile.  We feel privileged to call him a student of Rising Star Outreach.

Age: 8
Birthday: January 1, 1999

Divya is a very special girl.  She is always obedient, and very mature for her age. Not only is she one of the smartest children steadying at Rising Star, but she can really understand people, both young and old.  She is always seen laughing, smiling and cheering up the other girls.  She thrives on making everyone happy.  She loves to spread sunshine wherever she is.   Divya has such a joy for life, and it's contagious to all around her!

Family Story: Elumalai’s father died shortly after he was born. His mother was committed to a mental institution, and he was raised by distant relatives in a city about 8 hours from Chennai. His relatives have leprosy. His sister, Sathya, has been at Rising Star Outreach for two years and takes extra special care of him.

Personality: This sweet little boy is a gem at RSO. He is one of the smallest children and yet he runs his hardest to keep up with the older boys, especially when they are racing each other. He has super long eyelashes.

Hemalatha was born a performer.  She loves to sing, dance, and act!  We don't mind, because she has the most beautiful voice that has ever been found on a seven year old.  Hemalatha enjoys school, and currently her favorite subject is math.  Her younger brother, Mahesh, absolutely adores her.  She takes great care of him, and always there to hold him when he get hurt.  Hemalatha wants to be a doctor when she grows up.  Hemalatha is full of life, and is unstoppable once she puts her mind to something.  We are lucky to have her with us here at Rising Star Outreach!

Birthday: December 17, 1998

Immanuel recently turned eight years old and is the older brother of Vincent Raj, another brother at the school. He is from the Kadalur Colony and is a social light! He loves his friends and always wants to share his new discoveries with all the others around him. He never wants to waste time, but rather enjoys being busy and active.

Immanuel is an excellent student. He thrives in mathematics and in his Tamil assignments. He seeks to be successful and loves to please his teacher by offering the right answer or being extra obedient. He is fearless and loves new games and activities.

Birthday: July 19, 1996

Jayarakkini is one of our oldest children, which means that she has a few more responsibilities.  She is a junior housemother, and does an excellent job.  She treats all the girls in her group with respect and love.  In fact we have to rotate the younger children every month, because everyone wants to be in her room.  Recently Jayarakini had an operation on her throat, and she didn’t complain one time.  She is a great example to all those around her.  She loves school, and earns high marks in all subjects.  We feel blessed to have her with us at Rising Star Outreach.
