C. Priya is a happy and enthusiastic girl.  She loves being the center of attention, and playing jokes.  She lives to make people laugh!  Priya leads the morning assembly everyday.  Her public speaking skills are superb, and she is a natural leader.  Priya is one of the best English speakers in the school; she gets lots of practice mimicking the volunteers.   Priya is a big help to her mother, and takes extra special care of her younger brothers.  When she grows up she wants to become a doctor.

Manodahya is one of a kind!  She is beautiful, outgoing, optimistic, and top in her class.  She thrives on helping other, and she is always the first on the scene when someone gets hurt.  We are sure that its early training for her dream of becoming a Doctor.  Manodahya is an energetic girl, who loves to sing and dance.  Despite all that energy she is also content to sit and read alone, or to a group of younger children.  We feel blessed to have her here with us at Rising Star Outreach.

Manish is a shy boy, but once you get to know him he is a very opinionated boy.  He loves to play games, and run around with his friends.  He likes to race, and climb the trees.  Manish is always one of the first to finish his meal, and he always seems to have room for seconds.  His favorite meal is Mutton Briyani.  Manish loves to play in the rain.  He tries hard in school and receives high marks.  He says that he wants to be teacher so that he can use the pointer and write on the blackboard.

Personality: Mariadas is probably the smallest boy at Rising Star Outreach, but he seems to be oblivious to the size difference. He is very smart and enjoys being his own man. When asked whether he is a boy or a girl, he replied, “ I am Mariadas.” He was given some further instruction on what the question was, yet his answer remained “I am Mariadas..” He believes himself to be above every rule, and speaks to adults as he was the same age. He is fearless despite his size. He has the cutest smile and melts the hearts of everyone around him, even the other children. Mariadas’ brother, David, is also in our school, and the two are best friends.

Mathanraj is a kid that knows how to live and love life.  He is always smiling and laughing.  He seems to find the best in every situation.
Mathanraj  would be the first to tell you that he is a great cricket player.  He likes to sing and dance.  Mathanraj is doing well in all subjects. Math is his favorite, but only because that's how his name starts.  He wants to become a doctor someday, and we are sure that he will accomplish anything that he puts his mind to.  Mathanraj is great kid, and we are proud to call him ours!

Family Story: Grandmother has leprosy. Her father works as an electrician at the Leprosy Mission Hospital. Last year, Misba was given a loan from Rising Star Outreach to study at another, and was recently granted a seat in our school.

Personality: Misba made the volunteers work for her love when she first arrived, and still requires some one-on-one time to really get to know her. When there aren't many others around, Misba quietly sings with her sweet little voice. She will hum along to English songs to which she doesn't know the words. Misba is extremely intelligent, and is able to pick up on learning very quickly. Misba is very sensitive, and while she participates in all the activities, she is also a quiet observer. She has a beautiful laugh and smile, and is somewhat of a beauty queen. The day that she arrived, she refused to have her picture taken until she had jasmine in her hair, her earrings and necklace on, and a fancier dress to wear; after about 15 minutes, she was ready for her photo shoot. She is lovingly referred to as the "princess of Rising Star."

Mohankumar is a sweet little boy loved by all, especially his father.
They have a very close relationship.  His father does everything possible to make sure that he gets everything that he needs.  Recently Mohan got very sick with malaria while home on holiday.  When we went to check on him his parents had already taken him to the hospital for all necessary treatments; and his father was holding him in his arms pointing to pictures in a book, while Mohan taught him the English word.  At school Mohan loves to run and climb the trees.  He is a smart boy, and receives high marks in all subjects.  He loves watching movies, and listening to English music.
