Birthday: March 19, 2002

Family: Rubini lives at home with her parents, and her two brothers.  Her younger brother, Ruzendran, is also studying here at Rising Star Outreach.  She has an older brother who attends the local government school near their village.

Rubini is a shining star here at school.  She has many talents, including: singing, dancing, drawing, and making others feel welcome. Everyone young and old, love to be with Rubini.  Her teachers have nothing but praise for her.  Her favorite subject is science.  During recess she loves to play with the our dog, and her new puppies.  Rubini wants to become a veterinarian, and we are sure that she will make a great one.  It is a treat to have her with us at Rising Star Outreach!

Family: Rutish has one younger brother as well as an older sister.  His brother and sister live at home and attend a local school near their village.

Rutish has a fully developed right brain.  He is very creative and it is shown in his love to write, sing, and dance. He also has tremendous energy, which we know will help him someday pursue an artistic career if he chooses. Rutish is a quiet yet “smiley” boy and he gets along well with others.  He revels in the outdoors and is also very brave.  Even though he is small in stature, he has no problem standing up to the older boys on the playground and defending his little friend, Gracie.  Rutish also has beautiful long eyelashes and is sure to be a hit with the ladies when he grows up!

Ruzendran is a happy and vibrant boy.  He loves to play ball, and go on walks.  He loves to climb the trees, and pick mangos and goa fruit.   His favorite color is blue in fact he says he wishes he could have blue skin.  He loves to color, and play with play dough.  Ruzendran is learning his ABC's and loves to recite them to anyone who will listen.  His best friend is his teacher Shama.

A little angel… Everyone agrees that Sangeetha is a Rising Star angel.  She has a spirit of peace about her.  She is honest, true, and loving to all.  She never fights and is always doing what is right.  Sangeetha has one younger sister here at Rising Star, and she is also making sure that she is taken care of.  Sangeetha receives high marks in school, and often offers her help to the younger children in her family group.  She enjoys singing and dancing.  Sangeetha says that she will be a mother, teacher, and nurse when she grows up.  We can't imagine life without our angel at Rising Star.

Saran Raj is a big child compared to the other children, which is why we suspect he’s older.  He’s pretty strong and has lots of energy!  He’s always active!  He likes to be in charge.  When something doesn’t go his way or the activity doesn’t go his way or if the activity everyone is doing isn’t what he wants to do, he will shout as loud as he can until someone pays attention to him.  He loves to say his own name and he says it with a lot of dignity.  He repeatedly told me to run away as we were playing catch, and threw the ball as hard as he could at me.  He has never cried in all the times we’ve spent at the home.

Sarumuki has a personality that will get her far in life.  She loves everyone, and is easy to love in return.  She is very polite and respectful, and always speaks her mind.  She loves to sing, dance, play on the slide, and of course talk.  She appreciates every drop of attention that she is given, but never demands it.  Sarumuki is a wonderful example to all those around her.  She always waits until everyone has their food before she prays and eats.  She takes excellent care of her younger sister Pavithra.  Sarumuki wants to become an engineer.  We are blessed to have her as a student here at Rising Star Outreach.

Birthday: July 7, 2000

Savitha is a little celebrity at school.  She loves to be the center of attention, and she is not one bit camera shy.  She has the cutest little voice in the world, and she's not afraid to share it.  She often breaks out in song during lunch.  Savitha never lets anyone tell her she can’t do something.  Recently she wanted to play cricket with the boys, but they told her it was a ‘mans game’.  She quickly replied with, fine my name is Vijay, now give me the bat.  Much to everyone's surprise she was actually very good, now all the boys want her on their team.  Savitha is well behaved in class, and math is her favorite subject..  Savitha leaves a big impression for such a small girl!

Birthday: November 23, 2002

Sharmila, at five, is one of our younger children.  However that doesn’t hold her back from doing what she wants to do. She is excelling in all subjects, but Tamil is her favorite.  Sharmila wants to be an engineer when she grows up.  At recess she enjoys playing kabadi (the native form of tag).  She has an older brother, Mathanraj, who she loves to play cricket with.  Sharmila is a great addition to Rising Star Outreach!
